The year 2019 will be one of the more exciting in the 100-year history of the city of Bottrop. In 1919, the municipality was granted city rights and this event is now celebrated throughout 2019 with many different events. Highlights are the official ceremony on 30 May and the town festival from 31 May to 2 June, when the awarding of town rights is duly honoured and celebrated.
The medals once depict the coat of arms of the city of Bottrop and the skyline of the Ruhr area city. There are some important buildings of Bottrop to be seen. From the left it begins with the Tetraeder, then the Malakoffturm follows. Next there is the church St. Cyriakus, which stands next to the castle Beck. Then follow the entrance gate of the famous Movie Park, the Martinskirche and the town hall. Every Bottroper will find one of his favourite buildings on the medal.
In the case of the special stamp, there is also an insert that offers information about the different buildings of the skyline and shows all interested people cutting information about his city.
